Rastoni is a complex of four independent residences in Antiparos. The project is set within the gentle Cycladic landscape, defined by natural vegetation, low stone walls and an open relationship with the view towards the sea.

The architectural idea begins with a careful observation of the site. A discreet sense of a curve is present in many elements of the plot: from the low circular shrubs and the subtle movements of the ground, to the way the eye and the body move around the elements of the landscape. It is a soft, silent curve, one that does not seek to become a form in itself. From the architectural encounter between this curved element and the clean cubic volumes of Cycladic architecture emerges the main identity of the project. A composition in which the orthogonal and the curve do not oppose each other but coexist in a calm, almost natural balance.

The four residences are organized as autonomous units, each with private courtyards, swimming pools and protected outdoor living areas. The composition avoids simple repetition and creates a freer volumetric arrangement: white cubic volumes, subtle curves, arched passages, semicircular elements, wooden shading structures and small spatial gestures come together to form a contemporary Cycladic environment.

There is a discreet sense of playfulness in Rastoni. The individual elements seem to be placed with a sculptural sensitivity, creating an architecture that at times recalls a kinetic composition and at others a painterly balance. The overall feeling suggests a freer Mediterranean plasticity where form, light and shadow become part of the everyday experience.

Particular importance is given to the in-between spaces: the transitions from the entrance to the courtyard, from the interior to the pool, from light to shadow. These spaces do not function merely as passages, but as small scenes of habitation, each with different qualities of privacy, view, protection and atmosphere.

The materiality remains simple and clear: white plaster, wooden frames, wooden pergolas, and exposed stonework. The surrounding landscape preserves its natural character, allowing the complex to feel not imposed upon the site, but as if it has emerged from it.

Rastoni is a contemporary Cycladic residential project that seeks a balance between geometry and naturalness, between the clarity of the white volume and the liveliness of the curve. It is a composition of residences that offers calmness, privacy and a distinctive living experience within the landscape of Antiparos.
