gnb architects undertook the design and completion of the bioclimatic building on 109-111 Vouliagmenis  Avenue, designed in 2010 by architect Kyriakos Kyriakides in order to accommodate the new Ibis Styles – Athens Routes.

The building consists of three basements, which are serviced by a vehicle lift for underground parking. Two 50-person conference rooms that can be transformed into a larger one are situated in the first basement, where the fitness center is also located. The ground floor lobby has been crafted with themed wallpapers of ancient Greek statues with an interesting twist and accommodates the lobby, restaurant, kitchen and bar. The 89 rooms of the hotel are situated on the following 6 floors, whereas a roof garden is planned to start operating soon on the terrace.

The proposal for the interior is based on the funky character of the IBIS Styles chain, like the vibrant colors that alternate between public and private spaces but mainly on the theme of the hotel based on the ancient roots of the city of Athens. The patio,  open to guests, is surrounded by the hotel’s main lounge and is designed in milder tones with plenty of vegetation since it is design and constructed as a green roof.
